What's the right temperature to wear opaque stockings?

The best temperature to wear opaque stockings would ideally be around 10 - 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The reason for this is because opaque stockings tend to be non-see through, thicker and warmer due to the fact that they have a higher denier. Therefore it’s more appropriate to wear opaque hosiery during the colder time of the year. Take a look at this hosiery index for temperatures between 10 - 50F degrees:

Conversely, for warmer temperature, it’s better to wear stockings that are sheer and thinner.

Note: Denier is the unit of measure for hosiery. The smaller the number, the thinner a pair of hose tends to be. The larger the number, the thicker a pair of hose tends to be.

As soon as I step out the door in heels , I think: 'I wish I was wearing flats' As I get further down the road it becomes: 'I swear these were easier to walk in when I last wore them' or 'I would have so much more freedom in flats' or 'I would be able to walk so much quicker if I wasn't wearing heels'... Why don't Europeans wear European style clothing anymore? They all wear American style clothing since the second WW. Do Europeans not take pride in their native clothing?

If we’re talking about the t-shirt and jeans then you have a point, as these were made popular by Americans. Except that Jeans were patented by immigrants from Europe - Jacob W. Davis was Latvian by birth and Levi Strauss was born in Buttonheim, Bavaria (now part of Germany as he was born in 1829). The classic men’s suit was made popular in Victorian England as a more pragmatic alternative to the gaudy fancy coats of the Regency period while for women the revolution towards less conservative dresses was thanks to French maiden Coco Chanel and her Little Black Dress . Very French.
